Top 10 Countries With Highest Stock Index Performance Since COVID
I just researched the Top 10 Countries With Highest Stock Index Performance Since COVID and it’s not what I expected.
I’ve heard about how China has this great recovery, bigger than that of the US.
Well, China and the US aren’t even ranked in the Top 10.
I’ve been deep diving into the world’s economy to see how countries are doing since COVID last year.
The charts below are from my research in Schwab’s online brokerage platform.
They are for 1 year from today (April 23, 2021) and are of each country’s S&P.
I calculated the percentage of the index’s growth from last year this time to now.
#1 Argentina 147% ($213.73 to $528.14)
#2 South Korea 88% ($992.87 to $1,863.68)
#3 Sweden 87% ($783.87 to $1,466.25)
#4 Netherlands 80% ($516.63 to $928.84)
#5 Mexico 78.8% ($186.38 to $333.28)
#6 Taiwan 78.5% ($111.21 to $198.52)
#7 Norway 77% ($324.09 to $574.64)
#8 South Africa 75% ($193.33 to $338.85)
#9 Austria 68% ($185.06 to $311.76)
#10 Australia 66% ($344.67 to $572.61)
Conclusion
I hope you got some insight on the top 10 countries with highest index performance since COVID (measured as 1 year back from today).
I found it very interesting that the US and China were only at about 40% in terms of increase over last year.
In fact, there were many countries that beat them in terms of percentage growth of their index (Ireland, Chile, France Denmark, India, Greece, Italy, Brazil and Germany).
It’s important to note that the charts are all in US dollars.
Also, past performance does not guarantee future results.
