Lesson I Learned From Getting Sick

Lesson I Learned From Getting Sick

…getting sick was one of the biggest and most important experiences of my life…

…here’s why…

…yesterday I had a pain in my left ear…

…It got worse and worse as the evening went on and I finally asked my husband to take me to the emergency room…

…not sure why, I was crying and getting all emotional…

…I gave our baby son to my Mom to watch, and felt guilty for having to wake her up to watch him…

…in the hospital, I was told that my cold and nasal congestion had created an ear infection…

…I was prescribed medication and now here I am, the next day, tilting my head to the right so that the medication drops will stay in my ear…

…in the book You Can Hear Your Life, ailments are caused by thoughts…

…since I have difficulty hearing out of my left ear, it means that there are things that I really don’t want to hear…

…probably from my husband as he sits on my left in the car and at the dinner table…

…as I write this I realize that I caused myself to be sick instead of just meditating and solving whatever the issue is at the heart of it…

…here I sit here not even sure if I know how to solve this, although, now I know where to start…

…actually, I can hear what my husband has to say and it’s ok to disagree…

…and to voice my disagreement openly…

…and to know that I am safe no matter what is said…

…because we often say things that we don’t mean when our emotions over run us…

…sometimes, I think life’s lessons are taught in the most mysterious ways…

…my husband sees the world and judges some parts bad and then will blame them on the people closest to him…

…instead of realizing that a lot of what happens in the world is not caused by anyone, and that often times, blame is not really needed or helpful…

…can you blame a baby for crying when he doesn’t feel good?

…can you blame your wife for getting an earache when she is sick?

…I’m not completely innocent of course, I play the blame game too sometimes, and it’s not a fun game…

…I hope this will help cure my earache and also strengthen our wonderful marriage…

…thanks for reading this, and hope you also find knowledge and wisdom in your most cherished relationships too!

…tell me a story or lesson that you learned from being sick, or about your loved ones…
