How Would You Spend The $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot?

I visited Los Angeles this past week and a half and I heard a lot about the $1.3 Billion Powerball…which grew to $1.787 Billion over the weekend.

We had discussions with friends on what we would do if we won $1.3 Billion dollars!

I learned a lot about people and myself by our answers.

What would you do with the $1.3 Billion dollar jackpot?

What do your answers say about you?

What can you learn from them?

Answer #1 Protect The Money

The friend that was hosting us said he would get an attorney and set up a legal structure to ensure against lawsuits and family members who would want the money. He also wanted to hire security for him and his family.

Answer #2 Travel the World With the Money

Our friend’s girlfriend wants to travel the world in style. All first class all the way. Forget the career and her job. It’s off on an adventure!

Answer #3 Create an Organization to Help Students Pay For College

My husband Jomel wants to create an organization to help students pay for college. It wasn’t easy for him to graduate, due to lack of financial backing.

I was lucky to have my parents to raise me well with a great education, helping me pay and to have smaller loans and larger grants from the government.

He has compassion for those who, like him, have the ability but are lacking the financial assistance to afford the College that they want to attend.

Answer #4 Clean the Ocean and Work With Bruno Mars to Create a Music Video Hyping the Event

My answer was to hire a bunch of boats and get a bunch of volunteers to come with me and clean up the plastic from the ocean. We would talk to Bruno Mars and have him create a music video hyping up the event and getting everyone excited about cleaning up that part of the ocean that is a giant sea of plastic.

Our host friend was excited because he’s concerned about micro plastics in our food.

Then he started teasing me saying if I really got all that money I would probably party with celebrities instead and forget all of my altruism.

Then I told him I would also do another project.

Answer #5 Create Vegan and Gluten Free Whole Foods Food Truck Business

My 2nd project would be to create a food truck business that sells affordable Vegan and Gluten Free Whole Foods lunches for professionals and families on the go.

Simple and healthy food out of a food truck so it would have competitive pricing with fast food restaurants.

Answer #6 Create Vegan and Gluten Free Whole Foods Catering for School Lunch Programs

Another dream I have is for school kids to eat healthy, whole foods lunches that are vegan and gluten free.

It sounds complicated but it’s not. Basically remove processed, dried, canned foods and replace them with fresh fruits, food that is cooked from scratch!

Imagine our children all being a healthy weight, full of energy and with clear minds.

Answer #7 Buy a Security Detail, Fiji Vacation, Mansions for Yourself and Parents, Luxury Cars, Create an Educational Foundation and Invest the Rest with Your Banker Brother

This is what Edwin Castro did with his $2.04 Billion Powerball jackpot in 2022. Click here for details on his story.

He’s an inspiration as he still has the money, unlike many lottery winners who lose it all.

It’s illuminating to watch him as he is an actual Powerball winner. I and you can just talk about what we would do but he is actually going through that whole process as we speak.

Answer #8 Invest the Money and Live Off the Proceeds

It wouldn’t be very hard to do with that much money!

Take home of the $2.04 Powerball in lump sum after taxes was $997.6 million after Federal, State and other taxes.

That is a lot of money.

If you just put it in a savings account that’s making 4% you would make $39,904,000 in interest per year!!!

Can you even fathom that?

Conclusion

What would you do with $410.3 million before taxes?

That’s what CNN projected this past weekend’s Texas and Missouri powerball winners will receive.

After taxes they will have probably half of that so about $200 million dollars.

Invest in a savings account at 4% and you are making how much a year?

0.04 x 200,000,000 = $8 Million / year!

What would you do with the money?

What does it say about you?
