How Valuable Is Your Time?

How Valuable Is Your Time?

Mey here on a cool Thursday morning, with the rain gently patting on the plants outside of my window, writing to you about one of the key questions to your financial freedom…How Valuable Is Your Time?

…to me, all of our financial freedom journey or quest really comes down to this one idea of the value of our time…

…because money isn’t what we are ultimately after when we want to be financially free…

…of course, we do need enough money to support ourselves and allow us to make choices regarding our lifestyle…

…the real indicator though of freedom is the value of our time…

…we want to have control over our own time…

…we want to be able to spend our time our way, by our own choice…

How Valuable Is Your Time?

…so, here are some questions to help you realize how much value you are putting on your time…

…most people agree that the most precious times in their lives are with their children and family…

…to be there for them for sporting events, or weddings, or just to play with your kids and share with each other on a daily basis…

…so do you take the time to do that?

…when you are with your children, and the phone rings from work or it beeps from a facebook post, do you answer it or do you just stay with your children?

…I actually got to realize how valuable my time was to me when my boss once asked me this question “If someone paid you a million dollars a year however you would have to work 80+ hours a week to get it, would you do it?” and my answer was NO WAY…

…at the time I only worked 40 hours a week…

…and that was before I was married or even had kids…

…why? because there is no way I’m going to do a job for that many hours…

…because my private time was too valuable…

…I enjoy surfing, swimming, biking, running, reading, doing my internet business, spending time with my Mom and connecting with others on a spiritual and meaningful level…

…there was no way that I was going to trade the bulk of my time for anything else except for what I love to do…

…at the time he did not believe me, because he had traded most of his time to his job…and he thought that’s what everyone else would do too…

The Relationship Between Wealth and The Value of Your Time

…as I’ve gotten wealthier my time has become more and more valuable…

…all of my notifications on my phone are off, I only check what I need to on facebook and skype at a designated time during the day, I spend maybe 5 minutes…

…if during those 5 minutes, someone messages me on facebook or twitter and I don’t know them and their message makes no sense, I don’t respond…

…during my day, if someone calls and I don’t know them or want to speak to them, I don’t answer…

…if I’m with my family spending time with them, I don’t usually have my phone around, unless I want to take pictures…

…if you wanted to talk to me and you are not in my current sphere of people, you would have to leave me a message on my phone or a meaningful request through social media…

…if I deemed your request of value, then we would set up an appt for between 15 minutes to 40 minutes max, on another day or week when I had the spot open, to speak on the phone or on Skype…

…what about you?

…how valuable is your time?

…if someone asked you the million dollar question would you answer yes or no?

…how valuable is your time?

Conclusion

…I’ve been told by some that my head was a little more clear about how to value the people and activities that I love in my life…

…the truth is that I used to be a workaholic and a slave to fame and status…

…once I realized the prison I was in, I broke free, and never looked back…

…and I’ve been getting wealthier and wealthier ever since…

…all it comes down to is a decision, of how you want to spend your time, and to take action…

…I spend about 1-2 hours of my valuable time blogging and sharing my blogs with the world because I enjoy the challenge, I enjoy learning all that I can about financial freedom and I love helping others attain their goals and dreams…
