Giving Back is a True Privilege – Volunteering and Financial Freedom
…hi, Mey here at my desk after a very active morning including a webinar and then painting a parking lot at Ka’ala Elementary School in Wahiawa and now going to talk about how Giving Back is a True Privilege…
…so, today I was up early and drove out to Wahiawa to paint the red lines on the parking lot of Ka’ala Elementary School…
…this project was done by my bank with Hawaii 3 Rs, which is a non profit who helps repair our public schools when the administration is too backed up to do the work…
…when Hawaii 3 Rs started up the State Government of Hawaii had a repairs backlog of $600,000…
…it all started when a high school student at McKinley high school wrote a letter in the paper complaining about how bad the bathrooms were in their school…
…parents in the community organized and they repaired the facilities in McKinley high school with the students together…
…today I started thinking about what a privilege it really is to give back and to volunteer our time to worthy service…
…I’ve read recently in books by various authors like John DeMartini and Napoleon Hill that happiness is giving valuable service…
…the feeling is even more true when volunteering where there is a real need…
…and the truth is, it is an honor and a privilege to be able to have the time, money and health to be able to volunteer!
…there are many who don’t have the time, perhaps they have to care for children or maybe they are busy earning a living…
…and they don’t have the opportunities that I do to go out and give great service to the community…
…I think financial freedom is very important, because it frees up our time to care for our community…
…to give noble service to our community and others…
Do you volunteer? Do you think it is a privilege? What value do you get out of it?

its always great to give back and be a go giver. when you give to others, you always get it back in return in ways you never thought was possible
Thanks for the comment Sheena! Yes, giving feels good too!
