9 Heartfelt Methods to Create Wealth In Real Life
It’s late in the evening and I wanted to share with you a more personal story tonight.
Let’s get down to the heart of it all shall we?
Is it ok if I’m just honest with you?
I’ve been reading The Worldly Philosophers by Robert Heilbroner, which is a summary of all the great economists of history.
As I’ve been reading I actually started getting emotional.
I’m hearing about economists who are creating mathematical models of human behavior, assuming that everyone always acts in their own self interest.
…and it made me a little annoyed.
In my experience, I am not always rational in my actions, and certainly didn’t do things in my best economic interest.
I remember when I was heartbroken, in a relationship with a man that was really not in my best interest.
I didn’t care about my money, gave it to him, then got into debt to get away from him.
How was that in my economic self interest?
Honestly, I think of myself as a bit of a complicated, mixed up little lady…sometimes I’m purposely acting against my self interest because I just feel like screwing up.
Now that I’ve finally got my financial act together, I still know the heart, the why behind all of my actions…it’s my family.
I would do anything to be with my son, my husband, my Mom…I would do anything to make them happy, healthy…
Wouldn’t you die for the people that you love?
I’m not writing this to criticize economists (well, maybe a little).
I’m writing to let you know that I understand how silly, emotional, irrational that I can be…and yet, I still can create wealth, and a happy story for myself and my family.
So can you.
Let’s talk about the real stuff, the stuff that will get your heart aligned with true wealth…no matter how irrational you think you are…
In this blog, I offer 9 Heartfelt Methods to Wealth (that you can you in Real Life).
Heartfelt Method #1 To Wealth
One the biggest steps I had to take to create wealth, was to forgive myself for screwing up my finances and getting into other trouble.
Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.
Being overly critical of myself, and dwelling in past mistakes, kept me from living in the present and focus on creating wealth.
In addition, without forgiving myself, I didn’t have the will to accumulate wealth, since I didn’t feel like I deserved it!
So, the 1st method I want to share is the Forgiveness Process, which is taken from p. 139 of the book Happy For No Reason by Marci Shimoff.
Forgiveness Process
1) Sit someplace where you will not be disturbed.
2) Close your eyes and think of someone you are holding anger, hatred, or resentment toward in your heart.
3) Take a couple of deep breaths and let yourself feel your feelings without having to do anything about them. Just notice them.
4) Now, realize that the person’s hurtful action can’t be changed. It’s in the past and there is absolutely nothing that can be done to affect it now. Feel the finality of that.
5) Also realize that this person may never change. They are the way they are. Take a few deep breaths as you accept the truth of that.
6) Now, see that the person is the way they are – and did whatever they did – because they have some pain, some lack, some woundedness. They may not even realize it themselves, but it’s there. People hurt others only because they are hurt themselves. See them through the eyes of compassion for their own suffering. Imagine they are a child that is hurting, lashing out at others in their own pain. Can you feel compassion for them?
7. Sit quietly for a minute or two more, just feeling the expansion that compassion – in any amount – brings to the heart.
NOTE: It’s ok if you feel angry; the purpose of this exercise is to begin to release the pain in your heart, not to excuse others for their actions. Keep repeating this exercise until you feel a shift, however small, in your heart. Your forgiveness will grow as you feel more compassion.

Heartfelt Method #3 To Wealth
Do you believe that you will bring wealth and good things in your life if you don’t feel loving kindness to yourself, and to others?
The 3rd heartfelt method to wealth is the Lovingkindness Practice from p. 145 of the book Happy For No Reason, by Marci Shimoff.
Lovingkindness Practice
This exercise expands your capacity for compassion by guiding you through the process of wishing lovingkindness to yourself and others.
1. Find a quiet place and sit comfortably. Close your eyes.
2. Take slow, deep breaths, being aware of the breath as it enters and leaves your body. Let your thoughts come and go easily.
3. Repeat the following phrases silently:
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be with ease.
Continue feeling these wishes toward yourself for a minute or two or until you experience a sense of peace inside.
4. Now, move on to your friends and family. Picture one of them as you send the following wishes silently.
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be with ease.
Continue sending these wishes until you feel a flow of love in your heart.
5. Now send these wishes to all the living beings around the world. Continue until you feel a sense of expansion in your heart.

Heartfelt Method #7 To Wealth
One of the 1st lessons I learned while creating wealth, was that there are a lot of changes in how investments are made.
How to adapt and decide major decisions, such as quitting my job, pursuing my own online business, investing in various investments…these decisions were made by listening to my inner voice.
That’s why, the 7th heartfelt method to wealth is the LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE exercise from p. 205 from the book Happy For No Reason, by Marci Shimoff.
Inner Listening
1. Find a quiet, comfortable place, and sit with a pen and paper ready.
2. At the top of the paper write down a question or issue you’d like guidance about. Phrase the question or issue as clearly as possible.
3. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths.
4. Ask your inner voice the question you wrote on the paper. It may take a few moments until you feel ready, but when you do, open your eyes and start writing whatever comes to you. It doesn’t matter whether it makes sense or not. Keep writing until your hand feels like it won’t move any longer, not reading what you have written as you go.
5. Now read over what you’ve written. You may be quite surprised at what wisdom has come out. Even a single word or phrase may be the key to your answer.

Conclusion
Back in 2011 I had over $30,000 in credit card and line of credit debt, was living paycheck to paycheck and was stressed out over my lack of success in my financial life.
In April of 2016, I became debt free and had a monthly passive income stream. I quit my job on December 23, 2016, and started doing my dream work of mentoring others on what I did to create the freedom to quit my job.
In 2017 we bought our first condo in Waikiki, and we went on 5 weeks of vacation (including a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera)!!!
I spend most of my time doing what I dreamed of for years, spending my days with my son Jordan and my husband Jomel, enjoying motherhood and being a wife. I also enjoy researching Financial Freedom and sharing what I learn with my clients and on my blog.
