11 Effective New Year’s Resolutions For Financial Freedom
In this blog post I’m going to go over 11 Effective New Year’s resolutions for you to choose from to create financial freedom!
New Year’s Resolution #1 – I will Pay Myself First – I will set aside 10% or more of all the money that comes into my life for investing in my Financial Freedom. I will NEVER spend this money, I will only spend the interest/dividends/profits generated from this money.
New Year’s Resolution #2 – I will learn 1 new financial word every week. According to Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing, by Robert Kiyosaki, the key to wealth is learning the language of money and finance.
New Year’s Resolution #3 – I will create a passive income stream of $__________ /month on or before (fill in a date). One of the fastest ways to become financially free is to start making passive income! You can start with a savings account that pays interest.
My resolution is that on or before January 1st, 2021 the universe is paying our family $3,000 or more per month in consistent passive income designated for spending.
New Year’s Resolution #4 – I will track my Net Worth and my Financial Freedom Account every month. Your Financial Freedom Account is savings for investing (you never spend it, though you can spend the money that it makes in interest, dividends, profits, etc).
What you focus on expands. This technique was recommended to me by T Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar.
I track my Net Worth, Financial Freedom Account, Passive income and Cash Flow every month.
New Year’s Resolution #5 – I will read or listen to 1 book on Financial Freedom and Wealth every month. Suggested readings are
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker
- Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
- Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki
- The Cash Flow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki

- A Biography or Autobiography of your favorite Rich Person – I’m currently reading Bill Gates Speaks by Janet Lowe, just read Call Me Ted by Ted Turner, and am about to read The Making of Donald Trump by David Cay Johnston
New Year’s Resolution #6 – I will write out a financial plan with a financial adviser on how to reach Financial Security. (Per the advice of Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki)
New Year’s Resolution #7 – I will write out 2 financial plans with a financial adviser: 1) for Financial Security and 2) for becoming Financially Comfortable (Per the advice of Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki, if you want to be financially comfortable you need 2 financial plans and need to follow them)
New Year’s Resolution #8 – I will write out 3 financial plans with a financial adviser: 1) for becoming Financially Secure, 2) for becoming Financially Comfortable and 3) for becoming Rich. (Per the advice of Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki, if you want to be rich you need 3 financial plans and you need to follow them)
New Year’s Resolution #9 – I will follow the exercise in Tony Robbins book Money Master The Game, and write out how much money it will take to achieve Financial Security, Financial Vitality, Financial Independence, Financial Freedom, Absolute Financial Freedom
New Year’s Resolution #10 – I will play the board game Cash Flow 101 or 202 every week until I can win the game in less than 1 hour. I will play my life with the same game card until I get out of the rat race and win the fast track!
New Year’s Resolution #11 – I will practice gratitude everyday. The key to wealth is being wealth now, and then letting it manifest in the outer world. If you feel grateful for what you have, who you are, and all that is your life at the moment, then you practice feeling wealthy in the present moment. You can write in a journal, take time to pray or meditate, write thank you notes…be creative and choose a practice you can do daily.
