Personal Story About Money, Love and Adventure

Personal Story About Money, Love and Adventure

…Mey here blogging very late on a Saturday night, after my 2 year old son has finally gone to sleep, my husband was sick so not able to watch him today so that I could blog earlier, here I am finally ready to share with you a Personal Story About Money, Love and Adventure…

…I have a taste for adventure, and recently for money

…let me start from the beginning…

…I went off to Taiwan after graduating from College…

…wanted to learn kung fu and Chinese…

…my father lived there and I stayed with him for a little bit until I settled into life in Taipei…

…what a grand adventure that was!

…I had an “interesting” time with a Korean playboy where I learned about the difference between love and longing…

…and had many adventures in the kindergarten that I taught in to pay for my school and living…

…I tutored very rich people, and traveled all over Taipei…

…always had a swim suit ready when we went hiking in the mountains…

…I remember one of my classmates was studying Chinese art in the Museum, and she only slept 1-2 hours every night…

…she couldn’t sleep any longer than that…

…then off I went to Tainan, to go to another language school and explore the south of Taiwan (and get away from the Korean playboy)…

…it was a cultural center, where I found my kung fu teacher and team…

…began learning how to unleash my power in the Cultural heart of Taiwan…

…taught in a Women’s College, 6 classes with about 50 students in each class!

…biked everywhere, all over…

…was there when we had the earthquake of 9/21…

…after a year I tested into the Master’s degree program at a University in Chia Yi (actually, outside of Chia Yi in tiny Min Hsung)…

…rural, pineapple fields and mango trees, a night market outside on the field every night where the University would eat their dinner…

…still practiced kung fu and became an older kung fu sister…

…would train everyday for 3-4 hours…

…fell in love and 3 years later graduated and got into the University of Hawaii at Manoa PhD program…

…was there 3 years and then one day almost got hit by a pick up truck crossing the street…

…the near death experience triggered a change in me…

…I stopped…

…have you ever just stopped in  your life?

…and just looked and realized you didn’t like where you were…

…and that if life is so precious and short…

…then something was going to have to change?

…everything changed after that moment…

…I broke up with my long distance Taiwan boyfriend of 5 years and dated someone who would help me do all the things that I most feared…

…get kicked out of school…

…get into debt…

…go to court…

…get evicted…

…luckily I did get a good job at the bank where I still work today…

…that job was a miracle in my life…

…and I got away from the boyfriend and moved in with a loving family…

…I eventually found my soulmate Jomel, and we got married 5 months after we met on E-Harmony…

…he is also an adventurer, and a fire knife dancer (very hot!)…

…and we had our son one year later…

…my adventures taught me about love, and money and most of all, humility…

…I learned that I really don’t know what I am doing…

…and it is ok now to admit it and just enjoy the life that I am living…

…everyday is an adventure, everyday is full of love

…what a miraculous life we have…

…when I hold my 2 year old son as he’s sleeping, and go shopping for Christmas gifts for my loving husband with my caring Mom…

…I realize I live in heaven…

…financial freedom is very important, and yet, if I hadn’t learned what a precious thing life is, I would never understand how to teach it or even speak to you…

…my reader…

…you are the only one that really matters in this story…

…are you happy in your life?

…do you understand how precious you really are?

…it doesn’t matter how many mistakes you have made…

…doesn’t matter where you are right now…

…you are important, valuable and loved

…I hope you realize that!

Tell us about your adventures in the comments!

P.S. I blog because I love it…I realize that it isn’t for everyone (Jomel does not like to blog)…

…if you like to write and read and talk to people, then you will love what I do…
