Can You Make Money Getting Healthy???

…Mey here in the early evening blogging while Jordan is napping on the important question Can You Make Money Getting Healthy???

…let me tell you a story on how my husband Jomel made money the other day getting closer to his ideal weight!

…I’m always interested in increasing the amount of money we are making (and improving our cash flow) and Jomel tells me about something our team is organizing…

…so, we are in an internet marketing business (hence this beautiful and informative blog you are reading right now!) and our team leader Lawrence Tam (he’s so cool, he was an engineer who was making 5 figure months and still wouldn’t quit his engineering job…he eventually got laid off and never went back … his results aren’t, see our full income disclaimer here) tells the team that he is starting a fitness challenge using a Diet Bet App

…so my husband joins in…

…what happens is that you pay to be in the game $35.00, and then you weigh in with 2 pictures and you weigh out at the end of the game (it was a one month game) with 2 pictures…

…their weight goal was to decrease their weight by 4% in 1 month…

…if my husband made his weight goal, he would get an equal share of the pot (all the money everyone put in)…

…if he didn’t make his weight goal, then he loses his money…

…WOW WAS HE MOTIVATED…

…honestly, I hadn’t seen him this motivated to get his weight down since he played PLD (which is a personal development course that is also like a game, where you have 4 goals – 1 physical, 1 mental, 1 social and 1 spiritual)…want to learn more about the course click here

…so instead of his usual weight lifting then coming home, napping and eating just before bed…

…now he was also running around Diamond Head once a week (3 miles with an uphill on half), eating salads for dinner, not napping as much and just on fire…

…it was actually very exciting to watch…

…and it was all because of MONEY and PEER PRESSURE…

…I thought, wow, this Diet Bet App is phenomenal…

…so, did he make his goal?

…yes, he did…

…did he celebrate by eating more than a salad?

…yes…

…what can I say, baby steps…

…and YES HE MADE MONEY, his share back was $50+ so he made a profit of a little over $15.00…

…and yes, he is joining 2 more games on October 5!

…I hope he gets his goal again and makes this weight control a regular thing with healthy eating and a mix of good exercise…

…we’ll see, though I think this Diet Bet App sure is genius!

…If you need some motivation to get your ideal weight, then I suggest you join a game!

Can Playing Robert Kiyosaki’s Cash Flow Game Make You Financially Free?

…can a playing a game make you financially free?

…well, Cash Flow is a game that was recommended to me by one of my financially free friends (became free at 37)…

…he told me to play it every week until I could finish the game in an hour or less…

…truth be told, when he played with us he got out in 20 minutes…

  1. So What is the Cash Flow Game?

Cash Flow is a board game invented by Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad company…

…the goal of the game is to:
    1) Get out of the Rat Race
    2) Become Wealthy by attaining $50,000/monthly passive income or Obtaining your dream

…every player has a cash flow work sheet…

…in the beginning of the game, they pick a card and that gives them their occupation, salary, taxes, mortgage, debt payments, value of any assets and cash in the bank…

…all of these are listed on the cash flow work sheet under assets and liabilities…

…the expenses are added up and subtracted from the income giving a cash flow number…

…everytime you pass the payday square on the gameboard, you pay yourself your cashflow (income – expenses)…

…everyone has a game piece which is a different colored rat…

…you go around a circle in the middle of the board, rolling dice…

…you land on either a payday square, small opportunity, large opportunity, Market or DooDads…and there are also special squares for charity and if things really go bad…

…small opportunities give you the options to buy houses or condos, or start multi level marketing companies, or buy shares of stocks, or buy CDs…

…large opportunities give you the option to buy larger multi unit properties, or other more expensive business opportunities…

…market brings in factors like how the stock market is doing, or how property values are doing…

…Doodads are cards where you buy things…

…the point of this part of the game, the rat race, is to get out…

… in order to get out, you need your PASSIVE INCOME to be GREATER THAN your EXPENSES…

…so every turn you have, you track it…

…when you finally get out of the rat race, then you go into the outside of the board…

…everyone at the start of the game already chose one of the dream squares to be their dream…

…so you roll dice and and you buy bigger opportunities and see if you can land on your dream (and have enough cash to afford it)…

  2. Is Cash Flow Fun?

    …YES…

…it’s a board game that you can play with your friends…

…it’s fun to get out of the rat race and to become wealthy…

…landing on your dream is especially fun…

…some people who have mental blocks to math may find it frustrating until they decide to just do the math (which is not hard, just adding and subtracting)…

…it is told that we play the game the way we play your life, so if you are pretty poor at your personal finances, it may be harder in the beginning to get out of the rat race…

…or you may want to give up after the first hour if you don’t feel like you are making progress…

…the longest it took me to win the game was about 2 and 1/2 hours…

…in my house we play until everyone wins…

…so it really depends on how you play!

  3. Does Playing The Game Make You Financially Free?

…well, according to my friend, if you play every week until you get out in under an hour, then you will definitely be more mentally prepared to become free…

…you see, after playing many times, you automatically start calculating cash flow in your own life…

…and you pay more attention to PASSIVE INCOME, which is something that I never looked at before in my own life…

…it’s not how much you make either, it’s how you manage it to get passive income…

…in the game, the janitor almost always get out of the rat race first…

…have you played Cash Flow?

…What do you think of it?

Lessons I Learned From Gambling In Las Vegas

…have you ever gambled your money?

…did you win?

…did you lose?

…for me, the first time I ever went to Vegas was last week…

…it was also the first time I’ve gambled more than pennies at a friendly poker game…

…I learned some interesting lessons I’d like to share…

  1. GAMBLE FOR ENTERTAINMENT

…the first lesson I learned in Vegas is that gambling is fun and exciting and that there is a value to being able to gamble…

…I was scared at first, going to the Craps table…

…however, the players were pretty friendly and it was a lot more fun and also painful (lost my money) than I expected…

    …I really enjoyed it!

  2. GAMBLE WITH A BUDGET

…gambling was a bit frustrating for me because I lost most of my money…

…however, I will go back to Vegas again because I stuck to my budget…

…and my budget was for the express purpose of gambling…

    …you see, gambling is entertainment…

    …like a show…

    …and it has value…

    …so it’s ok to lose…

    …just like it’s ok to win…

…and if we didn’t ever lose, there would be no casinos right?

…and that wouldn’t be any fun at all!

What do you think?

Off To Las Vegas – Financial Freedom and Gambling

gambling_jpg_2443274b

I’m off to Las Vegas for the first time…

…and I’m going to gamble for the first time in a casino…

…can you be financially free and gamble?

…yes, as long as you’ve earned the right to gamble…

What does that mean?

It means that you have a solid base of savings and investments and on top of that you have extra that you can afford to gamble…

Not free yet?

Budget how much money you can gamble with and afford to lose, and only use that money to gamble…

…wish me luck!
