Do Women Marry For Money?

Do Women Marry For Money?

This is not a trick question…

I’m serious, women, if you are reading this and you are married, did you marry for money?

…and if you’re not married, are you looking for a guy to marry who has money?

Men – are you working to make lots of money so you can afford to marry the woman of your dreams?

…do you think women care about money?

…well, most of us have a lot of feelings about this subject!

AND it’s good to get these feelings out in the open, because we all want money…I mean…we all want happy marriages right?

MONEY OR LOVE

I think I personally had a lot of confusion about this topic when I was younger because I always thought in terms of OR…

…it’s love or money…

…well, if I asked that question all the time, of course I chose money…

…thinking that it meant having no money…

…that was me being simple minded and boy did it take me a while to finally realize that dating guys without money is a real drag!

WHY?

…because you have to pay for everything!

…and as a girl, I just like to be pampered…

…now I’m not going to say all girls are the same, this is my opinion…

MONEY AND LOVE

Finally I got struck by the blows of too many failed relationships and some sense got knocked into me and realized I could have both MONEY and LOVE…

…and now I do…

…AND IT’S SO GREAT!!!

…I’m the first to jump up and say that I married for both money and love!

…because I wanted to have both =)

…and why not?

Men like making lots of money, they enjoy buying what they like and having that power…

…and as a woman a powerful man is sexy…

…and it’s nice to take your lady out on the town…

…it’s nice to have money!

…I’m not saying that I don’t have my own money…

…I’m saying I like my man having money…

don’t you like having money?

Conclusion

So, in answer to the question, do women marry for money? I say YES, and they marry for LOVE and so many other things…

…and it’s a great thing too…

…because money is wonderful to have and to use to grow a beautiful loving relationship…

How Fast Can I Double My Investment? The Rule of 72 for Dummies…

…so how fast can I double my investment and can someone please explain the Rule of 72 in a simple way….for dummies?

…here is the explanation that you are looking for, and you can find some really nifty calculators HERE

…I think we all know that money grows faster at higher interest rates yes?

…so if we are going to put money in a savings account or a bond, we want to have the highest rate possible (in this rate environment it will probably be around 2% max)…

…now, if we owe money, we want to lowest rate possible, so that we can pay the least amount of interest…

…however, did you know that there is a rule that allows you to calculate how many years it will take for your money to double and a certain interest rate?

…what I mean is, say I have an interest rate of 2% in a Certificate of Deposit…

…there is a rule that I can apply to figure out in how many years that money would double, if I didn’t touch it and let it compound annually (add on the interest it earns every year)…

…that is the Rule of 72…

…how does it work?

…you take the interest rate and divide it into 72…(72 / 2 = 36 years)…

…so if you had $1,000 in a CD at 2%, it would become $2,000 in 36 years!

…now let’s look at your mortgage…

…say you have a mortgage of $450,000 at 4%…

…according to the law of 72, the money you owe would double in (72 / 4 = 18 years) if you didn’t make any payments on your mortgage…

…of course you do make payments…

…however, most people don’t realize that with a standard 30 mortgage, even if you make regular payments, you are still paying almost the same amount of money as your purchase price in interest to the bank!

…I used a calculator and to see what the amount of interest that you would pay on a $450,000 mortgage in 30 years would be -$323,412.78!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

…so, what does this mean for you?

…are you going to pay off the highest interest debt first?

…you still have to save money, thought it’s good to find the highest interest rate possible…

…tell me what the Rule of 72 means for you in the comments below!

Why Do The Wealthy Give To Charity? Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett’s Story

…do you give to charity?

…one of my wealthiest moments was when I realized I could give to charity freely, and started doing so…

…it may surprise some people just how much money wealthy people do give to charity…

…watch this video on the largest charitable donation in history…

  1. Why Does Warren Buffett Give to Charity? Bill & Melinda Gates Philanthropic Gift (2006 Donation)

…in this video we here Bill and Melinda Gates, along with Warren Buffett discuss their large charitable donation and why they have decided to donate…

Here is an excerpt taken from the video posting on youtube, quoted from what was written on Wikipedia at that time:

“In June 2006, he announced a plan to give away his fortune to charity, with 83% of it going to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He pledged about the equivalent of 10 million Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (worth approximately US$30.7 billion as of June 23, 2006), making it the largest charitable donation in history, and Buffett one of the leaders of philanthrocapitalism. The foundation will receive 5% of the total donation on an annualized basis each July, beginning in 2006. (Significantly, however, the pledge is conditional upon the foundation’s giving away each year, beginning in 2009, an amount that is at least equal to the value of the entire previous year’s gift from Buffett, in addition to 5% of the foundation’s net assets.) Buffett also will join the board of directors of the Gates Foundation, although he does not plan to be actively involved in the foundation’s investments.

This is a significant shift from previous statements Buffett has made, having stated that most of his fortune would pass to his Buffett Foundation. The bulk of the estate of his wife, valued at $2.6 billion, went to that foundation when she died in 2004.[124] He also pledged $50-million to the Nuclear Threat Initiative, in Washington, where he has served as an adviser since 2002.

In 2006, he auctioned his 2001 Lincoln Town Car on eBay to raise money for Girls, Inc. In 2007, he auctioned a luncheon with himself that raised a final bid of $650,100 for the Glide Foundation which was won by Mohnish Pabrai and Guy Spier.[128] On June 27, 2008, Zhao Danyang, a general manager at Pure Heart China Growth Investment Fund, won the 2008 5-day online “Power Lunch with Warren Buffett” charity auction with a bid of $2,110,100. Auction proceeds benefit the San Francisco Glide Foundation.[129][130] The following year, executives from Toronto-based Salida Capital paid US$1.68 million to dine with Buffett. The June 9, 2012 auction for lunch with Buffett yielded a record figure of $3,456,789; the highest figure paid for lunch with the investor. The Glide auction’s winners traditionally dine with Buffett at New York’s Smith and Wollensky steak house. The restaurant donates at least $10,000 to Glide each year to host the auction lunch.

In a letter to Fortune Magazine’s website in 2010 Buffett remarked:
My luck was accentuated by my living in a market system that sometimes produces distorted results, though overall it serves our country well… I’ve worked in an economy that rewards someone who saves the lives of others on a battlefield with a medal, rewards a great teacher with thank-you notes from parents, but rewards those who can detect the mispricing of securities with sums reaching into the billions. In short, fate’s distribution of long straws is wildly capricious.

This statement was made as part of a joint proposal with Bill Gates to encourage other wealthy individuals to pool some of their fortunes for charitable purposes.
Bill Gates’s wife Melinda urged people to learn a lesson from the philanthropic efforts of the family that sold its home and gave away half of its value, as detailed in The Power of Half. On December 9, 2010, Buffett, Bill Gates, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, signed a promise they called the “Gates-Buffett Giving Pledge”, in which they promised to donate to charity at least half of their wealth over time, and invited others among the wealthy to donate 50% or more of their wealth to charity.”

How The Housing Crisis Of 2008 Has Revolutionized My Life

…the housing crisis of 2008 revolutionized the way my generation looked at buying and owning your own house…

…though I didn’t have a home that went into foreclosure, I met a lot of young men my age who were all deeply affected…

…their stories and experiences revolutionized how I look at home ownership and wealth building…

…before the housing crisis I felt that I wanted to save enough money to buy my own house…

…I wasn’t very serious about my goal, and only started saving in 2009…

…though I didn’t own a house, I was still exposed to the effects of the crisis…

…while I was dating I met many men who had lost their homes, wealth or were about to lose their home…

…in addition, one of my mentors, Tracy Walker, lost her wealth in the crisis…

…the first man I met had been a successful real estate agent, owning 19 homes or so…

…he was living the high life with his wife when the real estate crisis hit…

…he ended up spending all his time negotiating with the bank, selling off his losses, dealing with is accounts being debited of all his funds for back payments on mortgages he couldn’t pay…

…he cut down the homes he owned down to a few and started a new business where he could rent them out…

,,,at the end of the 2 years or so of constant stress and making deals, he found his marriage in ruins as his wife asked for a divorce…

…I met him pretty much newly divorced…

…he moved to Hawaii and was focused on training for an Ironman to improve his health…

…he recommended renting as better than buying, and that he enjoyed having less assets and less stress…

…he taught me about negotiating, how to pay off debt quickly, and the importance of creating passive income streams…

…another fellow I met was currently in ownership of a home that was underwater…

…he had bought it before the crash…

…unable to make payments he had left it and gotten a job in the military…

…he was just waiting for the bank to finally foreclose on it…

…he was starting a new life…

…Tracy Walker is a powerful leader in our internet business…

…she had also been living the high life when the crisis hit…

…she said the lowest point was when she was driving her luxury car that was soon to be repossessed, and living in a fancy house with no furniture in it…

…she had sold everything that she could and was living on food stamps…

…then she became a millionaire internet marketer…

…then there’s the story of my husband, Jomel…

…he bought his home when the market was up later to find it decrease in value by about 50% after the crisis…

…he was paying interest only payments to the bank all ten years or so that he “owned” the home with is ex-wife…

…in the divorce proceedings he agreed to take responsibility for the house…

…unfortunately the bank did not allow her to remove her name from the second mortgage so they did a short sale…

…he didn’t feel like buying another home anytime soon…

…now we are faced with an interesting turn of fate…

…the home we are renting is up for sale due to death of the owner…

…we wanted to make an offer and buy it, even with all of the information we’ve heard about the dangers of buying a home…

…we looked into it and if your credit score is not in the 700s, the bank adds points (charging you more fees upfront) and increases the interest rate…

…by the law of 72, at a rate of 4% you will pay double what you borrowed in 18 years!

…so we decided that now is not the time…

…the future of where we will live is uncertain however, I think it’s wiser to keep up our investing and passive income building for now…

…I’m at peace with where the Universe will take us next, and visualizing a nicer bathroom…

…what about you?

…were you affected by the housing crisis of 2008?

…if you had $300,000 would you use it as a down payment on a $1,000,000 dollar home with a mortgage payment of nearly $5,000/mo, or would you invest it instead?

Lesson I Learned From David Wood

Where there is no vision, there is no hope. -George Washington Carver

David Wood is one of the greatest leaders that I have ever had the privilege to work with…

…he is the founder and co-owner of Empower Network, a company whose sole mission matches it’s name…to Empower people…

…ever since I first saw a video of Dave Wood, I knew he was a great man…

…I want to share one of the many lessons that I’ve learned from him…

  1. The biggest lesson that I learned from Dave was that I really did have value to contribute to the world, and that I can turn that value into money…

…this is probably one of the hardest lessons for me personally to learn, that I truly am valuable AND that I deserve to be paid for my value…

…and then actually really get paid…

…to me, it was like leadership lessons in the real world…

…with real people, and dollars…over $21,000 thousand dollars in about 1 year and 1/2 to be exact (my results are not typical…see the average earnings of people in my company at http://www.WorkWithMey.com/income)

…it’s not just the money, it’s the vastness of the knowledge that he has taught me and thousands of others through his live events, his trainings, his calls and webinars…

…he teaches the heart of things that we care about…like how to really make money, how to be a leader, how to deal with rejection, how to speak with influence, how to change people’s minds to be better, how to change the world…

…how to be a part of a movement that is so powerful, and so idealistic…AND STILL GET PAID…

    …I mean, who does that?

  2. Another Big Lesson from Dave Wood…

BE YOURSELF AND SPEAK YOUR TRUTH NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES….

…he embraces all people, whether you live on the street or you are a billionaire…

…he once told us a story about how one of the people in our business asked him to speak more politely so that he could market to professional people…

…and he instead revealed to that person that they believe that professional people are somehow better than others…when it just isn’t true…

…we are as people, equally good and equally worth of respect and of good will…

…to me, he is like a modern day Martin Luther King Jr or Mother Theresa…

…his mission is the help us bring out the best in all of us…

…and that is the best part!

…I bring my stronger and better leader self when I hear him speak and when I listen to the lessons that he teaches…

…because he created a business where we Blog Daily to the world our value, each individual and true…

…and we can come from any background, have any education, be anybody at anytime we want…

…this is a man that is a blessing to meet, work with and learn from!

If you want to learn from David Wood yourself, then you will have to blog daily…
