…all the stories written below are true, however, the names have been changed to mask their identities…
…on this night, we bring up the dead to allow the living to learn how to be better with their money…
The Gambling Housewife
…this story probably gives the story away…
…it starts with a housewife who was bored because her children didn’t need her anymore…
…so she went to the casino, and had a good time…
…she started out on a strict budget, and only went once a week…
…eventually, it turned into a habit, and she ended up getting $20,000 in debt…
…their family had to declare bankruptcy…
…and they moved to a state where gambling was illegal…
…however, the story doesn’t end there…
…she ended up inheriting over a million dollars from her parents…
…and bought two houses, one for a relative and one for her family…
…two years later they were in their home town and she visited her old Casino…
…and even though she had declared bankruptcy earlier…
…that Casino tracked her down, and offered to fly her free of charge to casinos that were out of state…
…so she started gambling again…
…long story short, she ended up gambling away all of her money and her house…
…she took the case to the Supreme Court, and lost…
…the moral of this tragic story, BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE MONEY HABITS THAT YOU MAKE…
The Young Man’s Inheritance
…this was a young man that I actually knew…
…one day he told me the story of his grandparent leaving him $500,000.00…
…and how his parents didn’t want him to have it…
…because they were afraid he would waste it…
…and he used it to buy some cars, and to live a a farm where they grow their own food…
…and in about 5 years, he had spent it all…
…he then could not make payments on the car, so he sold it for parts instead of let the dealer take it back…
…the moral of this tragic story – YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE MINDSET OF A WEALTHY PERSON TO BE WEALTHY…
The Homeless Man Gets A Gift
…I watched a documentary about a homeless man who was given a large sum of money…
…they wanted to see what he would do with it…
…though he was taken to meetings with financial advisors…
…he did not head their advice…
…instead, he bought a pick up truck, and gas for it, and rented a place to stay…
…eventually, he ran out of money…
Moral of the Story – GIVE YOUR MONEY UNWISELY AND IT WILL BE SPENT UNWISELY…
